I have studied the art of dance for over 25 years. I began my dance studies in Tap, Jazz, & Ballet under the direction of Miss Marie Haney in Brooklyn, NY. Later, I went on to study Hip-Hop & Funk Jazz techniques with choreographers such as Derek Mitchell & Frank Hatchett. I attend frequent classes at Broadway Dance Center & attend various dance workshops to maintain my skills. In addition to dancing, I have studied gymnastics and taught dance & gymnastics for the YMCA of Greater New York and The Fort Hamilton Army Base- Boys & Girls Club. I also instructed tumbling classes for 3 years at a local dance studio in Brooklyn, NY. I also managed a dance program for the Italian-American Federation at Sethlow Junior High School's Beacon Center. There, I conducted ballet, tap and hip-hop classes for children ages 4-9 years old.

In parallel to my dance teaching portfolio, I also acted as a Senior Program & Training Director for the YMCA of Greater New York  for over 10 years. I was responsible for the overall function & curriculum development of 7 community learning centers which serviced over 700 students & their families yearly. My programs were geared towards building the mind, body & spirit of each child and family member that walked through the doors. Many of the programs focused on Literacy, Math, Multiculturalism, Language Arts, Dance, Drama, Fashion, Art and Sports.

I am currently working as a dance instructor for Triple Essence Dance Studio as an early childhood dance teacher servicing the 2 1/2 to 5 year olds. I  hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Dual Masters Degree in Education and Special Education. I believe that any experience is a learning experience!
